When Hanneke decided to downscale her business from a 900 m2 store to a more intimate 300 m2 showroom, she asked us to help her communicate her reasons for doing so – quality over quantity, with a clear focus on her personal relationships in design & business.

interior designer & business owner

Hanneke Huisman came to us when she had just made the big decision to turn her 900 m2 furniture store into a 300m2 showroom. Her business was downscaling, but upgrading. Less floorspace to cover means more time for the parts of her job she loves most – creating beautiful and meaningful interior concepts and designs, tailor-made for a wide range of clients that trust her with the most intimate parts of their lives – their homes.

After intently listening to Hanneke's story, and in particular her reasons for downscaling her business, it was clear to us that her focus and that of her business was massively shifting. It screamed quality over quantity. Personal over popular. And most importantly – her choice radiates a deep love she has for her creative work. The quality of her work and the quality of the personal relationships were going to be the two things that we needed the design to emulate. To showcase this, we felt the new showroom needed to be well represented in high resolution photographs and her new ambitions clearly communicated online. A high-quality website, with a personal tone of voice and a warm but professional feeling to it.

We designed and built her a website that works as intuitively as Brechtje herself does. The timeline in the middle of the page is the only guideline she needs to follow within this design. She no longer has to squeeze herself into a grid that doesn’t suit her.

The website is a mood board. A small piece of the web where image, color, and atmosphere dominate. A world of its own where the atmospheres Brechtje designs, styles, and builds are brought to life. Her work and its presentation are now in harmony with eachother, because they both emulate her soul and signature and because they enhance each other in the emotion that radiates from them.
